The GOP Smears Begin
Yeah, the wingnut echo chamber is set at 11. They have a lot to fear here - not the least of which is the mere fact that we're finally going to have a damned identity. They've been running against a faction which allowed them to define what we were for the last dozen years. So don't be surprised to read a lot of crap like what El Bent Bozo writes in the (surprise!) Washington Times.
As bizarre as it might seem, liberal media bias is proving to be a boon for the GOP. In its complete Bush-era meltdown, the liberal media elite is applying absolutely no brakes to the Dean "revolution" taking over the DNC. They are moving further and further to the left, and the media are offering nothing but happy talk. The cliff is in sight, and the Pied Piper press is set to lead the party over the edge.
And the New York Post has locked and loaded too.
This is just day one. They're going to ratchet up the rhetoric. But always keep in mind that if what they say is so true, they're smart enough to know it would suit them best to keep their mouths shut and let us self-destruct.
Like us, however, they know the truth. They know that's not going to happen.
They have to launch a new pantload of lies to sell to the American public, and we have to throw up as many roadblocks as we can. Dean's on to their M.O. - much more so than Terry McAuliffe ever could hope to be.
But it won't happen by itself. We need to feed our shiny new media machine, folks. Go for it - any amount $5 or more. More would be nice.

When Howard Dean said that people respect those who operate from a position of integrity, he nailed it. Bring it on! Yeeeehhhayah!

screw the fake media and what ever they have to say, we gotta get our message out there, its really simple, we the Liberals and Progressives are the party of, by and for the people. They are cheap-labor conservatives, who are paid for by corporations, who want to go back to the feudal system with Lords and lackeys.
But all the talking in the world isn't going to be enough. First we gotta get a fucking paper trail for our votes, that has to be first and foremost. Without our votes counting everything else is forefeit.

PLEEEEEEESE...
Write letters to the editor of your local and neighborhood papers.
The MSM will try like hell to frame all of us as wackos. Get your name in the papers with words of support for the direction we're taking and stand up and be counted and visible.

I brought it to the attention of a local columnist that the MSM is programmed to bring up the 'scream' whenever Dr. Dean's name is mentioned in a story.
He said that was nonsense, probably because I suggested that he was as programmed as the MSM. He said that because he was there in Iowa, he could mention it without concern.
Sounds like programming to me.
Howard Dean has planted his feet in the ground and is ready to show the GOoPers that we are a force in politics again. They are as scared as a bunny rabbit in a foxhole and someone just turned on the light.
We're not there yet. It's a long way from here to there. With the right resources and the dedication and commitment of every Democrat/Progressive that ever spit on the ground at the mention of Bush's name, we can put this country back on the road paved by Jefferson and Lincoln.
My letter is in the mail as we speak...

The Democratic Party is fortunate to have Dr. Howard Dean agree to take on this position. He has a sharp intellect and unlike inside-the-beltway Democrats does not allow himself to be bullied and intimidated by Republican goons.
Dean is a fighter and not a weak, lamebrained, accomodating appeaser like M.B. Cahill, B. Schrum, D. Brazile, etc. He's a competitor who just might actually get Democrats to compete aggressively against this current party of thugs trying to wipe them out.
If right-wingers actually believe what they are writing about the Dean choice, they are probably
"misunderestimating" him and may end up regretting it.
The Republicans are mismanaging the economy and it will catch up with them sooner or later.
Perhaps though with Howard Dean the Democratic Party won't need a Republican crash/Depression/economic crisis to start winning again. That would be nice, if possible.
Best of luck to Howard Dean and the Dems and the USA!

MSM?

From the view of someone who listens daily to the slander and outright lies coming out of the mouths on the radio like, Insanity and Limblaaaaugh, Dean, will do the country well with his demanor and his intellect.
Spouting off at the Bush Regime is what the Bush Regime needs. They need to be called what they are on a daily basis. They need to be put on the defensive side of the ball. They need to be called the liars and thieves they are daily.
The major media will take a big big notice of it, but, it will need to be continued daily. They will grab the headline making material.
Let the power happy money freaks continue to claim the moral high ground even when they want to cut everything they can out of the American system of social programs. Let them keep getting up on that pulpit on the hill saying it's good to kill programs that help those in need. Let them stand in line with their leader of phony faith in the Christed one. It is coming out now that they are phony and it is coming out now that they love money more than anything that breathes to live as a decent human being.
Howard Dean will instill the guts and the backbone to those on the hill that are afraid to speak out, they all need to have a shot of courage so we the people will have elected servants doing their job for the people. Courage to stand up to the bullys is our way to get back the America of the free and the America of the, we, will help our citizens in time of need.
Gutless wonders in thousand dollar suits with million dollar bank accounts will really start to feel the conviction in their souls that says it's wrong to demoralize for the sake of money and power. It will do them nothing to hate and spew that hate where it is not needed in America. Defensive and on the run is where they need to be when they act so almighty.
Phony is as phony does and it is coming out of their closets whether they like it or not.

I like your site and your posts, but having a link at the end of each post to contribute to the DNC is not appropriate, AT LEAST FOR THE MOMENT.
For the last 2 years, beginning with Dean's brilliant campaign, and then picked up by the worthless Kerry campaign, the DNC and the candidates have thought of their internet supporters as nothing more than an ATM MACHINE -- "post a message or send them and e-mail and get money back."
I, for one, will not give a penny to ANY DEMOCRATIC PARTY OR CANDIDATE until I see PROOF that they are moving in MY direction, and not must being "Republican Lite" and looking for that ellusive "center" that killed Kerry dead.
When they can energize the 40 Million essentially Democratic but non-voting Americans (not the blacks or poor, of course, as they are not allowed to vote any more) then I will support them again.
Voting for Condi because "the President deserves the Secretary of State he wants"? I don't think that's worth my money. Voting for Gonzales because they didn't want to "offend Hispanics?" I don't think that's going to get my money either.
Republicans lie and people die.
Republicans steal and give it to their rich friends.
Republicans cheat and get away with it.
Until the Democrats stand up and SAY those things and put their (worthless, but it's all they have) votes behind their words, they are NOT getting my money or my support.
They have a chance to come back, or they can find themselves a third-rate or fourth-rate party in 20 years.

Grass Roots Issue Ad Campaign--March 14 to March 18
I'm Robert Millman, a guy from upstate New York and and along with another guy in Florida named Frank Howard and some friends, we put together three sixty second radio ads to target the staggering failures of the Bush administration. The topics are simple: Deficit Spending and Oil Dependence. For more information and to hear the ads go to--http://www.buzzflash.com/contributors/05/02/con05049.html
I know there are a lot of issues fighting for attention, but I'm taking this approach--If you look at the underlying causes of the Bush war in the Middle East and underlying agenda of the Bush domestic policy you will find two things: Oil Dependence and Deficit Spending.
A small group of people in Albany, NY and another in Tampa, FL are going to run these ads on right wing talk radio stations where we live. We're hoping other people will join in and do the same in towns and cities where they live.
Our ads will run from March 14 to March 18, 2005. We want people across America join us. We want regular people across America to stand up and raise two issues that Mr. Bush has avoided.
Anyone can run an issue ad, and these ads are available to anyone. I created them and offer them to anyone for full and free use. They are posted on www.Buzzflash.com and Buzzflash has agreed to be a sponsor of these ads.
I would describe my personal politics as progressive, but this is not about being Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative. This is about two issues that America must face if our country and our children are going to have a future. I want America to be the best it can be. A country with a future. A country that leads by example.
I'm tired of playing defense, I'm tired of the Bush administration media spin. I'm going on offense; and for me that means--Talk Radio.
So please join me and stand up for our country for five days starting on March 14 . If enough people place an ad, just one ad each, then together I believe we could make a difference. Together we can get America to start discussing real problems, and real solutions.

I love the "scream" speech. I love Howard Dean. He should embrace the "scream", I did!!! We need a passionate Democrat like that!!! Thank you, Howard Dean!!! Bye bye John Kerry...the conservatives are afraid of Howard Dean, not John Kerry...

The technology nlow exixts whereby covering useless 15 percent of theland in Arizona with a new type of semiconductor, which is flexible and impervious to damage can make us nearly 90 percent energy independenbt from the oil nations plus clean up the environment saving billions in health costs and untold suffering. This material was demonstrated a few years ago on NPR TV. Nobody in the U. S. Petroleum controlled government was inbtesrsted. He took the invention to Japan, playing a portable radio in the sunlight with about a squar4 foot of the semiconductor, and the heads of large Japanese Companies, to whyom the demo was intended went ballistic. Unfortunately, Japan does not have the acreage to accomodate this system, but we do. Why the hell has not this boon anbd solution to our energy dependence been withheld from the public? Perhaps Howard Dean can take up the good fight. Thanks for listening.

It wasn't long after the media began crucifying Dean for his so-called "scream" that I figured out why Bush and the GOP had started to tell the public that out of all the possible candidates, Dean was the one they least afraid of.
We live in Orwellian times. The Bush Administration has always lied to us, from the time Bush set foot in the White House and up until now. Lied about everything. So when they said that Howard Dean was the candidate they preferred to go up against in the Election, what they meant was that Dean was the very candidate they were most afraid of. Doublespeak? Yes. Howard Dean could have and should have been President.
Now the GOP is running scared, and all the lapdogs in the media are trying to besmirch Dean in an attempt to convince the public that the Progressives and Dems have just made another coffin for themselves.
Let's not get fooled again. Howard Dean is the leader we need to steer the country in the direction that we should have been heading in all along -- to the left!

This old Democrat can't wait to get our country back, I'm overjoyed that Dr.Dean is our chairman. Now if everbody that send a letter or writes an artical, petition for our cause to the Bushies would include the EEEEEEAYYHHHHH, scream. That should wake them up And it should be included with our Democrat Donkey logo. Ole Vet

We need to get on a mantra of something that they ridiculously said and keep repeating it along the way. No let up. We just need one good one
Posted by: fran kaye | Feb 13, 2005 at 01:54 PM
Why don't we dems make that YEEHAAA of Dean's our calling card? We can beat the b----ards at their own game. It would certainly get attention...then every time the conservatives use it, it will be like an ad for the DNC.
Posted by: J. Nessler | Feb 13, 2005 at 02:52 PM
The thing that iis interesting. After the scream, I ran from Howard Dean...too psychotic I thought. Then I saw a report that on the floor of the speech in Iowa, you couldn't evenhear the scream.
Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson..two of the big wusses in media, but decently fair, talked about the MIC he used. I was in radio for 15 years. In the studio, I always insisted on an omni-directional mic. That way, if I wasn't direct on the mic, I was still heard. At remotes or loud live events, I had my own OMNI/UNI-directional mic. It meant that the only thing it picked up was me, speaking directly in to it. I could flip a little switch on it and make it OMNI for events that weren't attended well and it made it seem HUGE.
I'm all for Howard Dean now that I took time to research a little and allow an open mind to other factors...besides what the conservative MSM fed me.

You Scream, I scream
LETS ALL SCREAM FOR HOWARD DEAN!
He'll put a boner back into the democratic spine
We know he won't be towing no damn middle of the line
He will be the man who will clearly re-define
What it REALLY means to be a Democrat

With Dean in and request from John Kerry, I have already give some cash to the DNC. Not supporting the Democratic Party is identical to voting for Bush and his evil minions. You may not like the two-party system (I do), but it is the one we have. We do not need to revitalize our party; we have a splendid opportunity to re-create it.
Posted by: David Strong | Feb 13, 2005 at 04:41 PM
Go, Charlie Levenson (Portland),
I'm extrememly pumped about Dean and the DNC, but like Charlie, I'm not ready to drink the Democratic Party Kool-Aid in terms of donations until we see some real_and I do mean real-change in our T&A--as in Technique and Attitude. I've seen too many fund-raising letters, and too few real changes in what this Party is PREPARED TO DO to earn the votes of the rank-and-file. Hell, the Leadership to date doesn't even know what rank-and-file means...there are still way too many D.L.C types like Bruce Reed, Al From, yes, Hillary Clinton, Evan Bayh, Joe Liebermann, etc.along with the outgoing Mr. McAuliffe to suit me. They couldn't stop Dean, but make no mistake, they don't have his back. It is up to us at our local DFA, etc., to keep these "New Democrats" at bay. I want to see and support REAL Democrats--we don't need a newer model...Jerry Pecora, Lansing, Mich.

Hey, as long as the money goes to whatever beats these bastards in 2006 and 2008, then write those checks. We're giving this rush of turkee to the DNC to send the message that this is the right direction for once. Money talks and bullshit walks. If we're being bullshat, we'll walk.
I don't think we are. But hell yeah - float a few bucks to DFA, MoveOn...whoever's going to put the job over the top.

As it was mentioned by someone, the "scream" should be our calling card. Whenever the other side uses it, we should remark how childish and stupid they are to keep bringing it up. Then do like they do repeat, repeat, repeat, stupid and childish, it is for them to keep saying that, as they have nothing else to talk about. Just like they did with "obstructionist", it worked for them, it should work for us.
