Talk Radio in L.A.
The raw monthly data from Arbitron came out today. The wingnuts rebounded from their disasterous January while progressive KTLK continues to grow - especially in the morning.
This is why radio ratings are a three-month average - wild fluctuations of audiences, age groups, ethnicity and taste in this medium are legendary if you only follow this stuff from month to month. They're bad enough quarter to quarter.
Next month will be the the report card - the release of the Winter quarterly ratings.
These are extrapolated percentages for February '06, compared to that of January '06. The rolling three-month average (DecJanFeb) is in parenthesis. We broke 'em down into the three major demographics for talk radio.

Hey, Hoff....next month, could you post how the Marc Maron show is doing? He has a lousy timeslot and with Clippers games, God only knows how much show he'll have or when he'll come on, but I hope it's doing well enough.

Guess what? I'm an Arbitron diarist for the week of 3/23 to 3/29!
I am dutifully filling out my diary, and public radio, college radio and Air America are doing quite well.
Ha ha ha!
It'll make a bigger difference than voting!

Jill...
Will do. Marc's numbers won't register until next month anyway.

Could you also let us know how KPFK is doing?

Public and non-profit stations don't get rated by the major services.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
http://saveairamericaphoenix.com/
First off, to all the listeners who have stopped by and shown their support, a big THANK YOU to you all. The last few weeks have been an incredible ride while the staff has been hard at work putting together the pieces of the puzzle and we are happy to say that it's all progressed to the announcement you all have been waiting to hear.
While we have been able to secure the deal with the owners of the station we still have pixels for those of you who wish to be a "founding sponsor" on the gotStation.com website. Remember once we are on the air we will continue to remind our growing audience that it wouldn't have been possible without the supporters like you.
1480am KPHX will be our new position on the dial and we are on track to be back on the air April 3rd. In the mean time we want to hear your thoughts! Give a call on our new comment line 602-297-6642 and we'll be talking to you real soon!
We are not out of the woods yet. We need to raise more funds to finish paying the lease. We will be continuing the pixel drive in hopes to offset some of the money we have had to borrow to get on the air. Please remember to click here to TELL YOUR FRIENDS.
