The Troops Have Had Enough
BREAKING - Olbermann has just broken the news that the Military Times group will be publishing an editorial on Monday calling for the firing or resignation of Donald Rumsfeld.
Sometimes, the genius of Karl Rove just gets dumbed down by reality.
UPDATE: MSNBC has the story...
Just days after President Bush publicly affirmed Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's job security through the end of his term, a family of publications catering to the military will publish an editorial calling for the defense secretary's removal.
The editorial, released to NBC News on Friday ahead of its Monday publication date, stated, "It is one thing for the majority of Americans to think Rumsfeld has failed. But when the nation's current military leaders start to break publicly with their defense secretary, then it is clear that he is losing control of the institution he ostensibly leads."
The editorial will appear just one day before the midterm election, in which GOP candidates have been losing ground, according to recent polls.
Can't blame someone else for this. Not Kerry. Not Foley. Not suspect timing.
The reason is the pig-headed stubbornness (which they call "being resolute") of this All-Republican government, led by the PNAC and a president who kept putting the responsibility on what he hears from The Almighty.
The Almighty - along with the troops - has seen enough. His true angels are now speaking.

The current Bush mal-administration: staying with reality (as they perceive it through a haze). Staying the coarse (spelling intentional).
Six long years and most of it horrible for America and the planet, but the past few weeks have glory all over them, particularly today with this bit of news plus the crumbling of more than just Haggard: the very scheme that he and the other Fallwellians represent is going down.
I don't know what's more delightful: Haggard, or the Generals turning on that lunatic Rummy. Both are totally sweet to watch.
Still 4 days to the election. What wonders are next?

Interesting that they choose KO to leak their news.

This is incredible. The military calling for firing the Secretary of Defense? I have to think this is unheard of.
Notice not a single right-winger has commented on this on Memeorandum. Not one so far. It could take a while to think of a way to trash the troops for hating the troops. That's got to be a tough one.
Despite all their wrapping themselves in the troops rhetoric, it's becoming clear the generals can't stand Rumsfeld & company.

On choosing KO to leak their news, it's because so many of us watch him and Jon Stewart. Because they really care and use videos to back up the disgusting tricks of the administration now in place. Come on, Tuesday.
