Schuster Destroys Blackburn Over Iraq and MoveOn
I figured guest host David Schuster was going to do something cool under the "Tucker" banner - a spot normally known as a safe haven for wingnuts and neocons. Sure as hell, he had Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R - Tenn) on to discuss Rush Limbaugh's months-ago use of "Betray Us" against Sen. Chuck Hagel, a decorated Vietnam veteran himself...and he blew her out of the water.
Needless to say, she was a savant when it came to the MoveOn ad and every nuance of trouble the New York Times is supposedly having behind the scenes.
And then - Schuster caught Blackburn staring into the high-beams. He asked about one of her constituents which caught her completely ignorant. Dumbstruck, she proceeded to filibuster about how benevolent she is towards the troops and their families - but could not escape the sheer embarrassment of not knowing one important detail about one troop in her district.
See the video for the fireworks. It's Ari Fleischer Redux. And it's magnificent.
UPDATE: Buzzflash: "The Best Mainstream Media Takedown of a GOP Hypocritical Bushevik That We Have Seen Concerning the Faux MoveOn Controversy. A Must Watch." This is probably why Republican reps have been instructed not to appear on MSNBC to discuss the war. Big fat brave windbags over there in the GOP, folks. They've cut and run from a network that dares to confront them and ask serious questions.

18 years old... how much training could the kid possibly have had?
I don't believe for a second this woman personally keeps in touch with families of fallen soldiers, but maybe her time would be better spent preventing these deaths from happening in the first place.

OMG! Tucker must've been blown his Ovaltine right through his nose at home when he saw that. LOVE IT.

Schuster should be in the bow-tie-twits time slot all of the time. Give BTT the 2 in the morning slot where he can do less damage to the nation, and give Schuster his own show.

I wrote to MSNBC to tell them how much I appreciate David Shuster's integrity and how refreshing it is to finally see someone confront the ongoing right wing hypocrisy. Then I mentioned that since Tucker's ratings are the low point of their prime time schedule what a fine replacement they have in David Shuster.

Did you see her tight little pissed-off smile at the end there? Hee hee.

Bravo. Get rid of the Fucker, um Tucker, already.

Beautiful - and thank you Hoffmania for bringing a little more light into the world by way of this video.
So she gets all her intelligence by e-mail? Fabulous. What if AOL goes down? What then?
Nitwit.
The "congresswoman" is clearly a numbnut. If there's any message she doesn't get by way of the name "move on", perhaps her "constituency" will deliver it soundly.

Remeember this Marsha Blackburn phony's cameo on Jon Stewart. She is an embarrasment to Tennessee, America, and Womanhood. Bet she told all her Barbara Bush-like "beautiful mind" ilk to make sure they get Tucker Carlson and not blind-date David Schuster for their war-cheerleader smear-appearances.

Yes, Marsha Blackburn is a lower echelon sycophant of the RNC/WH. She was among the barrage in the echo chamber who spouted the unintenionally funny "away game" theory of terrorwar, which trivialized the Iraq debacle as if it were some football game.

I usually gag on Tucker, vomit on Dobbs and turn off both of them. The first time I caught Schuster I never changed the dial and sent MSNBC a request to put him on. I also emailed CNN to hire him and dump Beck.

Oh Schuster beat up on the congresswoman.
Takes big balls to do that.
And she didn't know the name of the kid.
That was just a 'gotcha' stunt.
It means nothing.
The real argument is this: Is a serving officer in the military above criticism?
Hell no.
He wants to get up there and give his little repot saying everything is just fine in the merry ole land of OZ...
Well Move-On and anybody else has their constitutioal right to call bullshit on it!
That's what the argument is, Schuster.
Get a life!

Blackburn what a hypocrite, she did not know the name of soldier why bother her beautiful mind with such distasteful information. Thank you David Schuster for being so aggressive with Ms. Blackburn.

David Schuster is JOURNALIST!
Posted by: Krashkopf | Sep 25, 2007 at 05:47 AM
David should have followed up on her comment that she had emailed with a chaplain from her district to try to aid him in getting supplies...why would she have to do that? Is it because there is so much corruption and graft in the military supply chain?
