Jon Stewart Speaks Brutal Truth to Power (Douglas Feith Interview)

This clip will be all over the place by daybreak, including here. Doug Feith decided it would sell some books if he dropped by The Daily Show, which he did tonight. He ended up getting very effectively and very powerfully dressed down by Stewart for the disinformation campaign they waged against the public in the run-up to the war.

This is a little something we like to call re-entering earth's atmosphere without your heat shields. Quite possibly Stewart's best "get." Here are the unedited interview segments.

"Change You Deserve"

That's it? That's the rallying cry of the Republican party this year? Really? This is their motto? Change You Deserve?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

So what you're saying is, Americans don't deserve real change. right? They deserve "change" that keeps everything on the disastrous course McCain wants to continue. "You all really suck, so you're gonna get what you deserve! Change? Fuck you! You'll get the change you deserve..."

Sure, it's co-opting Obama's call for change, but in the context of the Republican party, it's so goddamn laughably false that there's just no way to confuse the two.

And, as HuffPo points out, it's also the ad slogan of an anti-depressant.

Doesn't matter. The GOP's website is so bloated with 2002-era technology, no one can get past the home page anyway. (But thanks for putting more pictures of Obama than McCain there, guys! High fives for nice marketing all around.)

Blame Gore!

We knew the fake Al Gore quote about the Myanmar cyclones was going to open a floodgate of this. Hannity's now blaming Gore for the food shortage. He'll also blame him when his ratings tank.

Johnstown, PA (Rotters) - An emotional New York Senator Hillary Clinton today announced in Pennsylvania that she was looking into foreclosure on her own campaign in order to recover the loss of the $5 million that she had previously lent to herself. Over the past month, donations have dried up as the public appears to have tired of her campaign's tactics. As many pundits and superdelegates have begun to call for her withdrawal from the race for the Democratic nomination, her competitor, Illinois Senator Barack Obama, again stated his support today for her remaining in the competition if she chooses to do so.

In a controversial move, Senator Obama announced that after extensive talks with the Clinton campaign, his campaign would begin offering limited financial assistance as well as strategical assistance and advice to the Clinton campaign. The financial assistance would come as a restructuring of the loan that Senator Clinton made to her campaign in order that she would be reimbursed, and the monies redistributed towards the furthering of the candidacies of other progressives in the coming fall elections, a cause for which Senator Obama has been adamant and extensively supportive financially.
