Too Late, Nancy...but Not Too Late, Senate Dems
Weird. If Pelosi's welcoming a filibuster in the senate, whuh, whuh, whuh? Her "yes" vote is even more puzzling.
Pelosi voted for the bill, saying legislation was urgently needed to update federal authority to collect intelligence information. But she said the provision granting retroactive immunity to telecommunications companies that aided the government surveillance program is “a cause for great anger” among the American people.
“It would be healthy if (the public) heard more about it… even if the resolution is the same,” Pelosi said, when asked by reporters whether she thinks Senate Democrats, including Sen. Barack Obama, should filibuster the legislation updating the Foreign
Intelligence Surveillance Act as it heads to the Senate floor this week.Obama has said he would support the legislation and supports eliminating the immunity provision. Sen. Chris Dodd is expected to offer an amendment stripping out the provision during Senate debate, but the Senate has rejected similar efforts multiple times in the past.
Hey. Chris. Hey, Barack. Say it with me. FIL. UH. BUSTER. It's easy. You try it. You have our permission. The Republicans fucked us for seven years. Fuck them back. USE THE FILIBUSTER. We'll all be in front of C-SPAN cheering you on.
Go on. Do it. You have to. LEAD. Because this is one time following is not an option.

"Go on. Do it. You have to. LEAD. Because this is one time following is not an option."
Sadly, following is the Congressional Democrats' favorite position; well, next to the submissive exposed belly position. These clowns, with very few exceptions, have caved to George W. Bush and the aptly name Dick Cheney for seven and a half years now. I think most of them secretly hope for a McCain presidency, so there will be an uninterrupted GOP boot up their ass for at least four more years.

Helena Montana. Son of A bitch! They've went and done it again. Pulled Bush and Cheney's criminal asses out of the fire again. How many times have they done this now. I lost count about five years ago due to all these late night sessions in the House and Senate. This bill as it stands will not only keep the telecom C.E.O s from doing time but will set a precedent for protecting the President when ever he breaks our constitutional laws. One more step down the dirty brick road. Why do we need a Senate and House anyway? Any village idiot can rubber stamp the Executive. All this expense and hand wringing is unnessecery
