Time to Drag This Guy McCain Out Into the Open
Can we throw this stuff out there with our fists flying? Because I'm getting really sick of the old man's grousing about things that never happened and making crap up. Seriously. Enough.
A new maverick ad (which looks like a Letterman bit) smacks Obama for not visiting troops during his overseas trip.
A new McCain ad that began airing Saturday in selected markets also chides Obama as disrespectful for making "time to go to the gym" during his European visit while at the same time canceling the visit with wounded troops.
"Seems the Pentagon wouldn't allow him to bring cameras," according to the ad, which is being televised in Colorado, Pennsylvania and the Washington D.C. area. "John McCain is always there for our troops."
McCain himself joined in the rebuke, saying in an interview to be aired Sunday by ABC's "This Week" that "if I had been told by the Pentagon that I couldn't visit those troops, and I was there and wanted to be there, I guarantee you, there would have been a seismic event."
ABC's Jake Tapper throws it back right into his two faces.
McCain's ad asserts that Obama "made time to go to the gym, but cancelled a visit with wounded troops. Seems the Pentagon wouldn't allow him to bring cameras."
The McCain campaign provides no evidence for the assertion that being told he couldn't bring media had anything to do with the trip's cancellation.
Oddly, when discussing Obama's trip to the gym, the ad uses footage of Obama playing basketball with US troops in Kuwait over the weekend.
The wheels have fallen off this trolley car. McCain's even pissing off Hagel, his old war friend. This morning, the maverick took back his approval of gay adoptions and completely rewrote practically everything he ever said. McCain is turning into even more of a lying sack.
"John McCain is always there for our troops"? Really? Hey, John. Go on the radio and praise the captors of our troops...just like you did in Nam. That was a real morale booster. I'm sick of this bullcrap. No more letting you off the hook because I'm being told to respect a guy who has now decided to take a right turn on Rove Boulevard. Your former comrades aren't exactly enamored with your record, including B-1 Bob Dornan.
As you said to George W. Bush in 2000, "You should be ashamed. You should be ashamed."
Sorry, folks. I'm fucking furious. Always there for the goddamn troops, huh? That's why he voted against or no-showed bills that provided for their care and well-being.
2006 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Disabled American Veterans 20 percent in 2006.
2006 In 2006 Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America gave Senator McCain a grade of D.
2006 Senator McCain sponsored or co-sponsored 18 percent of the legislation favored by the The Retired Enlisted Association in 2006.
2005 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Disabled American Veterans 25 percent in 2005.
2004 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Disabled American Veterans 50 percent in 2004.
2004 Senator McCain supported the interests of the The Retired Enlisted Association 0 percent in 2004.
2003-2004 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Vietnam Veterans of America 100 percent in 2003-2004.
2003 Senator McCain supported the interests of the The American Legion 50 percent in 2003.
2001 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Vietnam Veterans of America 46 percent in 2001.
1999 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Disabled American Veterans 66 percent in 1999.
1997-1998 Senator McCain supported the interests of the Vietnam Veterans of America 0 percent in 1997-1998.
1989-1990 On the votes that the Vietnam Veterans of America considered to be the most important in 1989-1990 , Senator McCain voted their preferred position 50 percent of the time.
McCain knew in 2004 he was going to run. Suddenly he became the Vietnam Veterans of America's newest buddy. Always there for the troops? Gimme a break, McCain.
A vote for this dishonest "maverick" proves one's ignorance of the truth.
(My words are indeed harsh here, written out of passion. I went back and tempered some of the language. The original text was still nothing compared to the junk that was dished out on the Vietnam vet who ran in 2004. The bar was lowered long before I put my paws on the keyboard today. Deal with it.)

You know he's going to green light any smear, any outrage, any filthy lie that Roveco can twist up, then deny with a shrug or not bother to even deny that he had anything to do with it. We all know this, yes?
His naked greed for power is so painfully obvious I can't even bear to watch him talk for twenty seconds. Even with the sound off. His entire body language is a massive contorted lie that no amount of plastic surgery can conceal. He has the morals of a crack dealer. He lies, he cheats and he whines worse than Richard Nixon. Let's all hope to the Christ he wants to bomb Iran for that after November we will not have John McCain to kick around ever again.

Wolf Blitzer's interview with McCain this morning was absolutely chilling! He's obsessed with war! Just like Bush, it's my way or the highway! The guy doesn't compromise.
McCain has absolutely sold his soul to Bush/Cheney and I'm still afraid the reward is Jeb Bush for Veep!

Jesus. I almost lost a perfectly good TV this morning when I heard him say on This Week that Obama blew off seeing wounded troops and when he again repeated his smear that Obama wanted to lose the war for personal political gain. Fortunately, my rational mind won out, and I didn't throw my shoe through the screen thereby saving myself some bucks for a replacement. I've thought for a long time that McCain, strictly on the issues, would make a poor choice for president. Today proved to me that McCain also is without a doubt a truly a self-serving hypocrite who has decided to stoop to any smear no matter how untrue if he thinks it will help land him the job.

What rock do they pull you idiots out of. It really scares me to think that you are possibly of voting age. Being from Illinois and knowing the crooked piece of crap that Obama is, really scares me to think that he has supportors like yourselves. Have you ever been a prisoner of war. McCain had the opportunity to leave his captivity early, but chose to stay with his soldiers. What would you do with your legs and arms broken, I bet you would be crying for your mommies. Please, please please move to China, move to Russia, move to Canada for all I care, but until you actually join the military pick up a gun and fight for this country, do not bad mouth or spew the shit that you are submitting on this site. It is people like you that will cause the downfall of this great country. Thank God ones like you are few and far between. McCain is not my first choice for President, but he far outweighs Obama in everyway. COLIN POWELL for PRESIDENT! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Concerned,
So all those horrendous experiences give McCain a right to lie to us? Sorry, pal...POWs have come back with a better sense of values than that.
Also, if picking up a gun is your measure of proof of love for America, then I'm concerned for YOU.
Nice try, but common sense will always win out. Just hopping on here and calling Obama crooked without anything to back it up is just more McCain-like attacking.
Don't blame us for the downfall of this great country. You Republicans made this the worst era in our short history.

I am reading his comments and speeches and he contradicts himself every chance he gets. Obama lied about what the Pentagon told him he could do. McCain was able to visit the same troops that Obama said he could not visit. The difference between the two, the Pentagon would not allow Obama to bring in the cameras, or the rest of his campaign crew. By the way Illinois Politics is the most crooked there is. We have the highest taxes, gas prices, debt as a state and many other issues. Our education and health care has been almost depleted as far as funding goes, and we have a governor who will not even live in the capital. He spends $5,000.00 a day on airfare to and from. Tell me from research on Obama, what he has done to improve the state that I live in that would make me comfortable in the fact that he would change anything in the United States. There is nothing. The people he associates with are radical and have very negative views about this country and I cannot believe that he himself does not. Sure he talks a good game, but he has never delivered. Change, what change, how? Obama does not impress me. He flip flops on everything and for you to sit their and tell me that he would make a better Commander and Chief then McCain really disturbs me. Have you really done your research, or are just going by what the media says. My vote is not for McCain, it is against Obama.
McCain has better morals and would make a better President then Obama every would. Do your research like I have on both candidates, not just liberal sites, but all sites and then make your decisions. Don't go by what hippie professors and radical liberals would like for you to think. THINK FOR YOURSELF. Judging by your responses you don't.

Once more thing. This countries downward spiral happened two years ago, who became the majority in the house and senate, why democrats of course. They are the ones who make choices about the economy and other related issues, are you so blind you cannot see. Wait, you are from Chicago, so I guess you would be. Those of us South of the Chicago border wish you would become a state all on your own, so you can destroy yourselves and leave the rest of us in Illinois to become a better and more ethical state.

Concerned,
Were you always a nitwit or did you have to work to perfect it? Just curious.
Posted by: sparrow | Jul 27, 2008 at 08:13 PM
Yes, Hoff your words are harsh BUT they are DESERVED! McCain is sell out. He is a true RED Neo-Con conservative now. Nothing decent about the man. He now WORKS for the IDIOTS that got us in this MESS! THE NEO-CONS! THAT should be our focus. McCain's campaign has twice now made the ridiculous assertion that Obama would be a third Bush term. Even the Conservative Novakula called that claim BULLSHIT! When focusing on McCain, Dems should point out WHO IS WORKING FOR HIM! Former Cheany Neo-Con Acolytes! Expose these hideous creatures and McNUTS' campaign will crumble. Although, I have to be honest, looking at the present Electoral Map, McNUTS is in WORSE shape than BEFORE his attacks. He's lowering his one quality, his good name. By November, his name will be a SHIT BURGER!

And this...
"This countries downward spiral happened two years ago, who became the majority in the house and senate, why democrats of course."
...is all you need to know about what we can now officially call a troll.
Posted by: CJ | Jul 27, 2008 at 08:19 PM
No Not a troll, but I am surely getting a kick out of your responses, all you have to do is say something negative about a democrat and they go on the defensive, wow thanks for the comic relief I am just glad that not everyone in this great country ours shares your view. I am glad to see that you are exercising your right to free speech. Remember to thank your troops, to include John McCain for that one. Have a great evening and go bury your heads in the sand you cowards.

"No Not a troll"
Posted by: The Very Definition of Defensive! | Jul 27, 2008 at 08:39 PM
McCain is fighting dirty and it would get much worse as we'll be closer to the elections. We just need to remind people the truth.
Posted by: Jessica | Jul 28, 2008 at 01:52 AM
People, don't play with the trolls. They are dirty and smelly and dumb. Just ignore them. That's what they deserve.
Posted by: donna | Jul 28, 2008 at 08:57 AM
Thank you, Donna. The way to deal with trolls is to ignore them completely. That means don't respond to them and don't refer to them in other posts. They come for the attention and will leave if they don't get it.
And this is the last time I will refer to this asshole and that other one.

Do it Hoff. Time for the gloves to come off because you know that the official Obama camp won't do it and unlike many other ranters, you actually pull information together in a coherent way that simply lets the truth tell its own story.
Pastor Doodah's got it right. McCain will fumble-bumble-mumble his "gee I didn't know they were doing that" about every vile attack that will air this season, giving the wink-wink green light to every other aspiring Turdblossom-urchin lurking out there.
As one of my favorites Bob Geiger (also a vet) has been known to put it: "No more reaching across the damn aisle!"
Time to unleash the dogs of history and let facts speak for themselves. Everybody raise a glass to Google, YouTube and the internetsssss!
