Living Up to the Hype
Howard Dean said it would be a great speech, and it is. Yes, Hillary's doing the job. And she's doing it magnificently. When Wolfson and Penn are out of the mix, she can be a powerhouse. A very strong and extremely controlled delivery which we seldom saw during the primary.
She effectively kicked PUMA's asses tonight and laid down the case for President Barack Obama. And she's in the process of kicking McCain's ass.
A very good transitional night, paving the way to a ratcheting up of the good fight for the next two nights. Let's kick more ass and take no prisoners. Superb speech. Superb.
UPDATE: Olbermann declared it a grand slam, out of the park and across the street. "I don't know how it could have been better...I don't know how it could have been better."
Matthews correctly pointed out that she laid out the compact with "no sense of defeat" but a sense that we're going forward.
CNN's running commercials (HUH?).
Maddow: Hillary didn't say she's supporting Obama...she said WHY she's supporting Obama. She completely owned the Pepsi Center with the "Keep Going" part of the speech, invoking the words attributed to Harriet Tubman.

There were good speakers tonight. However, Hillary topped them all. I just don't want to hear the idiots on TV with their comments so I watched on C-Span. Her best line, "were you in it for me or for them" - as she talked of the young injured Marine, the cancer woman. That was the united line. She was funny and charming tonight, she rocked.

PBS was great to watch it on because it didn't even have graphics cluttering up the screen.
Hillary was great but Dennis Kucinich can give A Speech

Very effective speech. I think she changed the minds of more than a few women into voting for Obama. I'd say it really was a 50/50 speech. Half of the content was for promoting Hillary, the other half for her party and persuading her supporters to vote for Obama. This speech will definitely be of value to her politically today and in the future. Now if we can keep most of the media from scrutinizing it and diceing it up to the point where we don't remember what Hillary said, I'll be happy. I cringe everytime they (the media) take apart a speech, twist and turn words, and then ask persumptious questions of each other. They for the most part interpret what was said totally different than what I had heard. Then, they hammer that home over and over again, and it just goes on and on. An example of this is on a show last night, don't remember which one, Rachel Maddow made the comment that John McCain played the POW card for everything. Anyway, this was brought up over and over again today. I know Chris Matthews asked a guest (I don't know his political affiliation), if he thought if John McCain used being a POW etc.. This person didn't think so. I know this question was asked of others. It seemed to me like they were dissing Rachel for making this statement when they asked it over and over. What Rachel said is true, and no one else seems to have the guts to say so. It seems the media is still backing McCain, those with the money, the connections, and the rules that must be followed.
